Hi, I'm Ryan.
WHERE I COME FROM
New Mexico has always been my home. I was born and raised here, and I deeply treasure our people, culture, landscapes, and everything else that makes the Land of Enchantment such a special place to live. My family has deep roots in our state and takes every opportunity to give back to the community that gave us so much. My mother is an educator in our public schools, and my father operates the same small family business my great-grandfather started here in the 1940's.
I've watched the political dysfunction in Santa Fe – and I decided the time to act is now. Our students can thrive, our economy can soar, and our communities can be safe and bright – but not with the same old ideas and worn out approaches.
A strong desire to give back to my community has shaped my journey into public service and provided me with diverse experience and insight into our state. While earning a Master's Degree in Public Affairs, I also had the opportunity to serve on the Board of Regents at New Mexico Highlands University. Then, working as a policy analyst in the Office of the Governor gave me an in-depth look at how our state government functions – and sometimes doesn't function. Through my experience in public outreach, I have helped provide English dictionaries to refugees, hundreds of backpacks to children, and fostered ongoing partnerships between the oil and gas industry and local nonprofits. In my current role as a policy analyst for the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce, I work passionately every day to support the development of local small businesses.
My husband Charles, our two huskies (Aspen and Indy), and I are blessed to call Albuquerque home. Our city is great – but with the right leaders fighting for us in the legislature – it can be even better.
