On the Issues
I’m passionate about supporting local small businesses and diversifying our economy. I believe New Mexico is an ideal place to do business and we need policies that reflect that, including removing bureaucratic red-tape, creating incentives to start and grow a business here, and maintaining minimal regulations to allow businesses to hire and care for their employees. We need to continue to develop our talented workforce and provide opportunities to keep our citizens in our state.
PUBLIC SAFETY AND HEALTH
We need to keep our communities safe. We need to make sure that law enforcement and first responders are equipped with the tools and resources they need to do their jobs. We also need to address public safety with a comprehensive, preventative strategy that addresses the root causes of crime, including mental and physical health, by ensuring that supportive services are adequately funded and functioning properly.
As the daughter of an educator, and product of New Mexico public schools, I know the importance of supporting our schools and teachers. I will make sure our schools are properly funded and that money is going to our classrooms, not spent on bureaucratic waste. We need to invest in educational programs that can adapt with advancing technologies and prepare our students for all of our workforce needs.
ETHICAL AND EFFICIENT GOVERNMENT
Our state government should serve the people. I will work hard to make sure our government is effective, accessible, accountable and functions with full transparency. We will fight to stop government waste, abuse, and fraud and demand ethical leadership at all levels.
